Browsing the wine routes of Portugal is another way of getting to know the best of the country’s wine, as well as the landscapes of the regions where it is cultivated. To the north you can start off by Minho, where the green wine is most predominant, continuing on down to Douro, the oldest demarcated region in the world and birthplace of Porto wine. In the centre of Portugal, you can enjoy the cities and towns which are full of history and which are revealed along the routes. Through the plains of Alentejo, good wine accompanies the heat and peaceful locations. Routes near to Lisbon have the added value of the sea. The river Tagus, in turn, follows the routes of Ribatejo flooding the fertile lands of the region.
